Euro 2020 Results

So near, yet so far.

Amidst the hurt of another penalty shootout defeat for England, we have a winner: well done to Rohit “Rowdy” Rao who takes home the £300 first prize.

Group Stage winner Jack Snell finishes in 20th place, and wooden spoon goes to Rob Percy and Aunty Katy (who managed to get just 3 results right!)

Here’s the final leaderboard (or link to Google Sheet):

See you for Christmas in Qatar 2022!

Knockout Stage Predictions

Down to the business end of the tournament and the contestants in this competition seem to fall into two categories:

(A) Optimistic patriots ready for an end to all the years of hurt

and

(B) People who think England are:

  • Not creative enough
  • Not positive enough
  • Going to go on getting bad results

You can view the full set of predictions in a Google Sheet here, or see below:

Group Stage – Results

The results are in, and hats off to previous winner Jack Snell who claims the lead at the halfway point. £100 on its way to you, Jacky Boy! Commiserations to Rowdy & Amunny who both also finished on 25 points but lost out on the tiebreaker.

Full results are below (or, if you prefer a spreadsheet view, click here). If the box is yellow, you scored two points for getting it exactly right. If the box is purple, you scored one point for correctly predicting that a team would get out of their group.. If the box is grey, you scored nothin’!

It’s still ALL TO PLAY FOR, as the leader after the Group Stage has never gone on to win the BIG MONEY JACKPOT. Only 8 points separates first place from last place, so don’t give up hope – £300 is still up for grabs.

Group Stage Predictions

The prize fund is £400, so the overall winner will take home £300 and whoever is in the lead after the Group Stages will win £100!

Remember, you score a point for each team you correctly predicted to qualify for the Knockout Stages, and a bonus point if you correctly predicted their finishing position in their group (1st, 2nd or 3rd). If there’s a tie for the lead, the tiebreaker will come into play.
